Stand Up, Sing Out - 2016
On November 27, 2016 Hummingsong Choirs hosted the inaugural Stand Up, Sing Out Sydney. Stand Up, Sing Out is a community event that provides a unique platform for men, women and children to raise awareness and funds for organisations that support the wellbeing of people in our community. Over 900 people united in song with guest Australian singer-songwriter, Lior & Christine Anu to celebrate the power of building stronger communities and to stand up against domestic violence. In Australia, despite the increased attention this issue receives in the media, the prevalence of domestic violence in our communities continues to grow. We gathered together to share our love of singing and continue spreading the word to demonstrate the power of community.
